Abstract
NURSING AND MIDWIFERY STUDENT'S ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN URMIA 2016

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Academic achievement is different in different universities and majors. It depends on personal and educational factors. This study aimed to investigate nursing and midwifery student's academic achievement in Urmia. Material and Methods: This was a cross sectional study conducted on 93 nursing and midwifery students in Urmia. Respondents were picked with a random method. A demographic form including age, gender and GPA was used for data collection (grade point average). Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, T test and Pearson correlation by SPSS v.19. Results: The mean of age was 22.09 ± 5.76 and the GPA was 15.80 ± 1.2. 26 respondents were female while others were male. There wasn’t any significant relationship between age and sex with academic achievement. Conclusion: The results had shown a moderate academic achievement among students.
