A REVIEW ON REVERSE PHASE HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY METHODS FOR ANTI-EPILEPTICS

ABSTRACT

The main aim of this review is to provide a brief view on reverse phase liquid chromatography methods for various anti-epileptic drugs. These drugs are also known as anticonvulsant drugs and anti-seizure drugs. Anti-epileptics are mainly used to treat epileptic disorders in the form of various formulations. In these drugs they differ in chemical structure and the mechanism of action will vary from one to other class of drugs. Anti-epileptics are analysed by using reverse phase HPLC method using different mobile phases, columns, at different wavelengths and various flow rates. RP-HPLC is the method which shows the effective and accurate results and to know about the quality f the drug without any impurities. The principle involved in the RP-HPLC is adsorption i.e, stationary phase is non-polar (adsorbent) and mobile phase is polar (solvent).
