ABSTRACT

The evolutionary histories of groups of species are one of the most widely used tools throughout the life sciences, as well as objects of research with in systematic, evolutionary biology. In every phylogenetic analysis reconstruction produces trees. The method of construction of phylogenetic tree based on molecular data is widely used to determine evolutionary relationships. In this paper we have selected Polo like Kinase 1 (PLK1), Thrombomodulin (THBD), Pleiotrophin (PTN) gene sequences for the in-silico analysis of the evolutionary relationship. The main objectives of the study were to assess the genetic variations and relatedness along with the investigation, identification, classification and evolutionary relationships among the overall selected Lung Cancer gene species. Confirmation of our results has been done by applying various statistical tests. The results have revealed that the selected genes have a number of discrete, highly divergent, genetic units. In contrast, some genes have high sequence similarity and identity to each other. This strategy may help us to identify the mutations that had occurred in evolutionary conserved residues. We predict that this method can be useful for understanding evolutionary rate variation and for understanding selection variation on different characters.
