"A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF KADARADI KASHAYA WITH ORAL HYPOGLYCEMIC DRUG IN THE MANAGEMENT OF MADHUMEHA"

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is rapidly growing and is major health concern worldwide. Due to various changes in diet and lifestyle accompanied by stress and other factors such as age, weight, etc could be considered as prime factors for causing DM. To find the promising treatment for DM the study was done. Study was aimed to evaluate the kadaradi kashaya for DM in a comparative study with oral hypoglycemic drug. Method and Materials: An Open randomized controlled study was carried out on 60 patients of Diabetes Mellitus. Trial group of 30 were given Kadaradi Kashaya and another 30 patients that is control were given Glynase- Glipizide 5 mg both for 60 days. The study was entirely based on clinical observation and lab investigation. These patients were advised strict diet and activity. Observation: Marked improvement in sign and symptoms was observed and also was comparable to control. Conclusion: Kadaradi Kashaya effectively managed the Diabetes mellitus and can be used as alternatives to modern drug therapy.
