BRIEF HISTORY OF AYURVEDA ACADEMY

ABSTRACT

Ayurveda, a medical system originated in India, is having a history of 5000 years. It has a mythological origin. Ayurveda developed during the Vedic period and reached its peak in Samhita period. The origin can be found in Atharva veda, and Ayurveda even considered as an Upaveda of Atharvaveda with 114 hymns. In all vedas we can see the description of plants and its uses as Rigveda had a description of 67 plants, Yajurveda 81 plants and Atharvaveda had description of 293 plants.
