FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF POLY HERBAL HAIR OIL

ABSTRACT
The main aim of the study was to formulate and evaluate Poly Herbal hair oil for improving and strengthening the hair by proper nourishment and preventing other hair problems like dryness and roughness. The Poly herbal hair oil contains ingredients such as Kalonji, Fenugreek, Hibiscus, Amla, Bhringraj, Shikakai, Murayya and Neem etc have many beneficial effects on hair and scalp. This poly herbal hair oil was prepared by simple mixing of all the ingredients with different compositions of base oils by using double boiling method for about 15 min. The prepared herbal hair oil formulations were evaluated for various parameters which show satisfactory results. Hair length was measured before and after treatment with prepared herbal hair oil for a period of one month. Hair length was measured at the end of 15th and 30th days in all groups. Considerable increase was observed in group treated with F3 formulation (Coconut oil+ Castor oil herbal mixture) followed by F2> F4>F1. Hence, from the present investigation it was found that the formulated poly herbal hair oil has optimum standards and further standardization and biological screening establishes the efficacy of formulated poly herbal hair oil. It can be concluded that the formulated Poly herbal Hair oil have good hair nourishing property and helps in maintaining good growth of hair, turning grey hair to black, protects from dandruff and results in lustrous looking hair.
