ABSTRACT
The Amaranthaceae family classifies Suaeda maritima as a mangrove herbaceous species. S. maritima thrives in alkaline environments, including mangrove forests and swamps. Reports indicate that this plant is rich in calcium, beta-carotene, and fiber, with relatively low levels of carbohydrates and fat. At present, an abundance of research has demonstrated that S. maritima possesses medicinal properties and is capable of a wide range of pharmacological actions. Traditional medicine has documented a range of pharmacological activities of this plant. These include anti-toxoplasma, anti-diabetic, anti-hyperlipidemic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties. Therefore, this review article is expected to discuss the potential various pharmacological activities of S. maritima.
