Methods: All the thyroid specimens received in department of pathology at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, Pune, India, during July 2013 to September 2015 were evaluated. Histopathological study of all the specimens were performed and were correlated with age and sex of the patients. Results: A total of 70 cases were evaluated. Midline neck swelling was the most common presenting feature. On local examination, diffuse swelling was the most common finding. Female preponderance was observed. Goiter was the most common non-neoplastic lesion. The most common benign lesion was follicular adenoma and malignant lesion was papillary carcinoma. Conclusion: To distinguish between various kinds of thyroid nodules by clinical and radiological examination alone is not possible and their further management can only be guided by categorisation of the lesion.
