SARCODON ASPRATUS, A FUNGUS WITH PROMISING PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

ABSTRACT
The current study examines S. aspratus's pharmacological actions and therapeutic indications. In China and other South East Asian nations, this endogenous fungus is widely utilized as a functional food to treat a range of illnesses, such as inflammatory, infectious, and gastrointestinal conditions. Today, S. aspratus has been shown to have a number of pharmacological properties, including antimicrobial, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. The pharmacological action of S. aspratus has been attributed to a wide range of natural substances, including polysaccharides. For the purpose of creating new medications, these natural products may be regarded as innovative medical sources. It is advised to conduct additional research to examine the medicinal qualities, tolerability, therapeutic efficacy, and particularly the phytochemistry of S. aspratus. The current review offers guidance for future investigations that seek to explore this area as a potential new source of herbal drugs and/or bioactive natural products, as well as to validate the popular use of it from an ethnopharmacological perspective.
