A REVIEW ON MICROFLORA RELATED NEURODEGENERATION

ABSTRACT

This review looks closely at how the gut microbiota interacts with the brain and the gut, showing it plays a key role in the connection between gut health and neurodegeneration. It shows how these interactions can affect conditions like Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The review points out how important it is to understand the roles of immune responses, neurotransmitter regulation, and substances produced by microbes. Evidence from both human and animal studies shows that the gut microbiota can influence inflammation in the brain, the buildup of proteins, and the health of barriers in the body. New treatment methods that focus on correcting imbalances in gut bacteria, like probiotics, prebiotics, and fecal microbiota transplants, offer hopeful options for managing neurodegenerative diseases. Understanding this complicated relationship is vital for enhancing how we diagnose and treat these conditions.
