A SHORT REVIEW ON FIRE RETARDANT POLYMERIC MATERIALS

ABSTRACT
The objective of this review work is to make interest in the field of fire retardant polymer based materials and nanomaterial as the demand of improved safety in domestic, public and industrial situation required by fire-safety standard and more accessible to the material science community, chemists, physicists and engineer. We particularly focus on some of the polymer composites and Nano composites i.e. polymer material focus with specific finely dispersed Nano filler which will undoubtedly gave the way for future materials combining physiochemical and thermo-mechanical performances with enhanced flame retardant behaviour. We generally focused here the fire retardant property of polymeric material like wood-plastic composite, poly- vinyl acetate composite, mineral flame retardant, halogenated flame retardant, phosphorous based flame retardant , nitrogen based flame retardant and silicon based flame retardant along with some Nanomaterial particles like, nano clays, carbon nano particle etc.
