ABSTRACT
Efficacies of eco-friendly use of insecticides, as Fipronil 0.3G 0.06 kg ai/ha and each of Acephate 75%WP, Fenobucarb 50EC and 1.5D and Carbofuran 3G, each @ 0.6 kg ai/ha were assessed against leaf folder Cnaphalocrocis medinalis Guenee on IR 36 of boro rice. Each of Acephate 75%WP and Fenobucarb 50EC was applied both as conventional medium volume spray and aqueous concentration as Control Droplet Application (CDA) besides a dust form as Fenobucarb 1.5D. All the insecticides significantly controlled leaf folder damages. Conventional spray of Acephate 75% WP Fenobucarb 50 EC CDA and Fipronil 0.3G produced respectively higher yields of 6.67, 6.38 and 6.28 t/ha against corresponding leaf damages of 0.997, 1.132 and 1.015 per m2 of leaf folder damages as compared to 4.74 t/ha and 1.647 /m2 in control treatment. The leaf area (LAI) significantly increased in all the treatments; the maximum was in Fipronil 0.3 G (0.513) followed by Fenobucarb 50 EC CDA (2.56) and Fenobucarb 1.5D (2.50) as against control (2.17). The insecticides were phytotonic probably helping yield increment. Fenobucarb 50 EC as CDA yielded better results than its conventional medium volume counterpart.
