ABSTRACT
Pirana is a village in Dascroi taluka in Ahmadabad district, Gujarat State. The main source of water into the pirana pond is rain water enters from the surroundings and also water from the Narmada River through canal. Water quality data based on seasonal variations of physico-chemical characteristics of the pond were carried out during winter, 2014 to summer, 2016. Three main seasons were classified as summer, monsoon and winter based on the information for five years weather data of Ahmedabad District. Significant seasonal variations of the different parameters were observed during the study. Also the comparative study was carried out to verify the effect of herbal coagulant i.e. Artemisia pallens and their combination with Alum on pond water for domestic use.
