Abstract
EVALUATION OF INVITRO-ANTICANCER ACTIVITY OF PORTULACA PILOSA LINN AGAINST MC-7 & HT-29 CELL LINES

ABSTRACT

The ethanolic and aqueous extracts of the whole plants of Portulaca pilosa (Linn.) has been evaluated for its invitro anticancer studies by Tryphan blue method and MTT assay against MCF-7 and HT-29 cell lines. Both the Ethanolic extract and aqueous extracts showed significant activity against MCF-7 & HT-29 cell lines in a dose dependent manner. These results provide promising baseline information for the potential use of ethanolic and aqueous extract of whole plants of Portulaca pilosa Linn in the treatment of cancer.
