Abstract
BIOSYNYHESIS OF SILVER, COPPER AND SAND NANO PARTICLES AND SYNERGISTIC ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY USING BACILLUS CEREUS

ABSTRACT

Biosynthesis of metal oxide Nanoparticles using microorganisms is an emerging technique in Nanobiotechnology. The present study focused on biosynthesis of nanoparticles and its synergistic antibacterial activity using Bacillus cereus. The formation of nanoparticles was confirmed by the change in colour from yellow to brown. These biosynthesized nanoparticles were evaluated for their antibacterial activities against certain medically important bacteria like Escherichia coli, Salmonella paratyphi A, Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumonia. It was concluded that the cultural filtrate obtained from biosynthesis of silver, copper and sand nanoparticles was found to posses greater antibacterial effect than pellet.
