DOCUMENTATION ON SOME ETHNIC PLANT SPECIES OF PANDHARKAWADA REGION DIST. YAVATMAL (M.S.) INDIA

ABSTRACT

Present paper deals with ethno-medicinal uses of 18 plant species of 18 genera and 13 angiospermic families, by the tribals of Pandharkawada region, in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra. This region is inhibited by tribal communities like Kolam, Gond, Banjara, Andh, Pardhi, etc. The information was documented about the medicinal plants by tribal peoples in this region. These plants were given on different ailments like wounds, bleeding piles, snake bite, typhoid, leucorrhoea, boils, scorpion sting etc. The ethno-botanical information on plants viz., botanical name, family, local name, plant part used and mode of administration is enumerated here.
