Abstract
SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND BIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF ANTHRANILIC ACID DERIVATIVES

ABSTRACT

A series of anthranilic acid derivatives were synthesized from different schemes and studied for their in vitro antibacterial activity. These compounds were characterized by IR and 1H NMR spectral data. All the compounds were evaluated in vitro, for the antibacterial activity against Gram positive S. aureus, B. subtilis, Gram negative E. coli and antifungal activity against C. albicans and A. niger by serial dilution method using ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, pefloxacin as reference standards for antibacterial activity and fluconazole as reference standard for antifungal activity and their minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) were determined.
