ABSTRACT
The present investigation deals about the synthesis of titanium oxide nanoparticles by sol-gel process and Chitosan Based TiO2 Nanocomposite. The synthesized titanium oxide nanoparticles are to be used for adsorption of dyestuffs. The dye adsorption follows on several factors such as, pH, mass of catalyst and the addition of oxidants or the presence of natural occurring substances. Langmuir isotherm and Freundlich model suggests that uptake occur on homogeneous surface by monolayer sorption without interaction between sorbed molecules. The models assume uniform energies of adsorption on to the surface
and no Tran’s migration of adsorbate in the plane of the surface. The kinetics of Rhodamine dye adsorption nicely followed pseudo-first and second order rate expression and a significant role in the adsorption mechanism. The data agree with pseudo-first and second order rate the adsorption capacity values in the same experimental conditions are higher for nanoparticles this material could be used more advantageously than low cost adsorbent in colour removal from dye house effluents.
