STUDY OF BREAST MALIGNANCY RECURRENCES IN RELATION TO HISTOPATHOLOGICAL FACTORS

ABSTRACT

Malignancy of the breast is found to have so many factors influencing its growth or control. Many factors in the past like early detection, oestrogen progesterone receptors and its effect on the treatment, lymph node status and its effect on prognosis of the disease, types of primary pathology, age and sex of the patient, clinical stage of the disease have been studied in detail by different authorities from time to time. The present study was undertaken to elucidate the predictive value of the special histopathological characterstics in addition to histopathological grading and typing. In the series of 327 women with breast cancer with special emphasis on recurrences assessing wheather they are of any value in predicting some times unfavourable histopathology which can lead to recurrences were studied retrospectively; so that effective detection and its treatment can be instituted well in advance.
