ABSTRACT
A comparative assessment studies were undertaken to standardize the Preliminary Phytochemical extractive yield obtained and physicochemical characteristics of the Unani single drug Gurmar Booti (Gymnema sylvestre R.Br.) Fam.-Ascliepiadaceae. used in India since the sixth century BC to provide human healthcare support in Ayurvedic and Unani, ASU. & ISM. as a traditional folk medicine, It has been reported ,investigated in various ethenobotenicals surveys,
and also the immense treatment of Prameha or Madhumeha, Ziabetus (Diabetes Mellitus type-2),Blood Glucose Level, Lipid Profile, obesity & metabolic disorder. Three samples of crude drugs were procure from raw drug national vendors of Delhi, Hyderabad and CRIUM., Herbal garden, Hyderabad region by employing Preliminary Phytochemical, extractive & physicochemical standard methods. The QC. & QA. Parameters were carried out as per WHO. and AOAC., IPC. guideline to assess the quality & comparative screening of drug samples. The physicochemical data showed that the drug samples contained soluble extract in water as WSEM.- (26.43%, 26.57%,26.73%),WSSEM-(31.01%,31.43%,35.13%) and in alcohol as ASEM(12.75%,12.94%,12.98%),ASSEM-(15.65%,18.43%,21.41%),in hydro-alcoholic as HASEM.-(39.13%,39.50%,39.66%),HASSE M.-(46.93%,51.37%,53.49%).The obtained research review data’s of Ethnobotanical, Preliminary Phytochemical screening, investigate extraction percentage assessment on various high polar extractive solvent showed high yield having enhance and high potential form of bioactive phytochemical constituents present in hydro-alcoholic (50:50 ratio) extracts. The quality control results revealed the absence of microbial load, heavy metal (ppm.) and aflatoxins (ppm.) contamination from the drug samples. This comparative screening assessment will provide the referential support information in the identification and reinvestigation assessment as the aspect of quality assurance and pharmacovigilance of the drug G. sylvestre R.Br.
