ABSTRACT
Aim and Objective: In the present study, hepatoprotective polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567) was determined for the presence of Organophosphorus and Chlorinated pesticidal contents in hepatoprotective polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567). Method: The method reported was used for analysis of pesticide content in the present work for determination of Organophosphorus and Chlorinated
pesticidal content in RVSPHF567 hepatoprotective polyherbal formulations as follows, Determination of Organophosphorus pesticides: Instrument used - Gas chromatography and the conditions were GC Column: Equity TM 5, 30 m x 0.25 mm ID, 0.25 mm (28089-U), Oven Temperature: 120°C (3minutes), 5°C (1minute) to 270°C (3minutes), Injector Temperature - 250°C, Detector Temperature - ECD, 260°C, Carrier gas: Helium, 30cm/sec @ 120°C, Injection Volume - 1.0μl split less (0.3 minute), Linear - 4mm I.D., Double taper, Standard - 40ng on column of a custom organophosphorus Pesticide mix., Determination of Chlorinated pesticides: Instrument used - Gas chromatography and the conditions were GC Column: Equity TM 5, 30 m x 0.25 mm ID, 0.25 mm (28089-U), Oven Temperature - 100°C (2 minutes), 15°C increase per minute to 160°C and 5°C increase per minute to 300°C and hold at 300°C for 10 minutes, Injector Temperature - 250°C, Detector Temperature - ECD, 310°C, Carrier gas: Helium, 30 cm/sec @ 100 °C, Injection Volume - 2.0 μl split less (0.5 minute), Linear – 4 mm I.D., Double taper, Standard – 50 ppb of a 22 component chlorinated pesticide Standard (46845). Results: Both the Organophosphorus pesticide contaminations and Chlorinated pesticides were not detected as per WHO specification in the hepatoprotective polyherbal formulation (RVSPHF567). Conclusion: The data indicated suggest that there is requirement of in process improvement to provide better quality for consumer health in order to be competitive in international markets.
Keywords: Organophosphorus pesticides, Chlorinated pesticides, Gas Chromatography, RVSPHF567.
