Abstract
THE PREVALENCE OF DERMATOPHYTOSIS IN PATIENTS ATTENDING AL-YARMOUK TEACHING HOSPITAL

ABSTRACT

Dermatophytic infections are common with many clinical types. A total of 96 patients with dermatophytosis were examined in Dermatology Outpatient Department in Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hosptal during the period from December 2014 to August 2015. Results revealed that the prevalence rate was 0.01% with dominant teen age group and a male: female ratio of 2.5:1. Two thirds of patients were from rural areas. T.corporis (31.2%) was the commonest type followed by T.capitis (25%). No T. barbae or manum were found.
