ANTI ULCER ACTIVITY OF SUTASHEKHAR RASA IN ALBINO RATS BY DRUGS INDUCED MODULE

ABSTRACT

Many modern anti-ulcer medicines like H2 blocker, Antacids, proton pump inhibitors etc. are having many adverse effect like Headache, Diarrhea, Constipation, Nausea, Hepatic dysfunction, Impotency etc. which made a physician to look for a safe alternative medicine Sutasekhar Rasa is one of the herbo – mineral drug, containts Shuddha Parada, Shuddha Gairika, Sunthi Churna and processed Tambul patra swarasa. Indicated in Amalpitta, Parinamshool, Annadravashool etc. Followed by Indomethacin induce ulcer module drugs are taken distilled water formed, the test drug sutashekhararasa(dose 2.25mg/kg body weight) and the stander drug omeprazole(dose 0.36mg/kg body weight) and Male Wister strain Albino-rats are taken in two group for the study, and exhibited Ulcers index mean  SD (S.EM.). The Sutashekhara rasa group exhibited mean ulcer index of 2.33  0.52 (0.21) which is comparable with that of omeprazole group 2.67 0.52 (0.21) and proved its significant anti ulcer activity than standard drug. In experimental study Test drug Sutasekhar Rasa has shown significant anti ulcer activity in Indomethacin drug induced ulcer module in comparison with standard drug omeprazole.
