A BRIEF REVIEW ON HERBAL LIPSTICK

ABSTRACT
The word cosmetics or makeup are used to enhance appearance. There are so many makeup items are available the market like lipstick, kajal, mascara, eye liner etc. Lipstick is used for the purpose of improve appearance, look attractive and protection of lips for many types damaging UV rays etc. It is available in the market in different variety of shades and form like liquid as well as stick on lips. Lipstick containing synthetic colorants which are made up of harmful chemicals and it is very harmful for our skin. lipstick demonstrate many types of negative effect like- allergy, nausea, dermatitis, and drying of the lips and more serve/used even fatal. So, the demand of the cosmetics containing herbal ingredients increased universally because it is safe. In our research, investigation was made to formulate lipstick containing herbal ingredients, evaluations and their comparison with marketed formulation. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the use of natural colorants in lipstick formulation having very less or no side effect. From ancient times the demand of cosmetics an incredible. Lipstick formulations are used to magnify the beauty of lips. Continuous use long time of synthetic colours in the lipstick may cause serious problems like skin discoloration, lip cancer, skin irritation etc. The adverse effect can be reduced by using natural herbal colour from different natural sources. In this review paper mainly focus on formulation, evaluation and its application.
