AYURVEDA AND MODERN PERSPECTIVE ON ANATOMICAL ABNORMALITIES OR CONGENITAL ANOMALIES: A REVIEW

ABSTRACT
Ayurveda the science of ancient Indian practices provides many ways of healthy living, philosophers of Ayurveda science represented several health issues and anatomical concepts of human body. Ayurveda described diseases related to the human body including anatomical or congenital anomalies. Ayurveda described concepts of Matrija, Pitrija, Rasaja, Aatmaja, Sattvaja and Satmyaja, etc. as essential component of healthy progeny. The vitiation in these factors may leads anatomical or congenital anomalies. Similarly physical, social and mental status of mother during pregnancy also affects health of fetus. Ayurveda suggested that healthy status of Matrija & Pitrija factors contributes towards health of baby. Therefore it is advised that good conduction of physical, ethical, mental and spiritual regimens reduces chances of anatomical abnormalities.
