URETHRAL CARUNCLE IN AN ADOLESCENT (AN UNUSUAL OCCURENCE)

ABSTRACT

Urethral Caruncle are commonest benign tumours found in the female urethra.[1] They are fleshy outgrowths located at urethral meatus mainly at posterior lip of urethra.[1] They occur in postmenopausal women[1] and are rarely detected in males. Few case reports reveal its occurrence in young girls.[2] Here, we discuss the case of a 17 -year-old girl presented to gynaec OPD with complaints of sudden onset of vaginal bleeding and found to have urethral caruncle which was the cause of bleeding. Histology confirmed the diagnosis, and girl was completely cured following surgical excision.
