THE ROLE OF BASIC CONCEPTS OF TIBB-E-UNANI IN THE RESEARCH OF TASHREEH-UL-BADAN (ANATOMY)

ABSTRACT
Introduction: According to Arabic lugat literal meaning of Tashreeh is “to cut”, “to dissect” and “to open”. Tashreeh-ul-badan means “Study of Organs” in which shape & form (shakl wa surat), colour (rung), consistency (kaifiyat), structure (saakht), inter relations (baahmi nisbat), and functions (afa‟al) of body are studied.[1] Research is "creative and systematic work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge". It involves the collection, organization and analysis of information to increase understanding of a topic or issue. A research project may be an expansion on past work in the field.[2] Aim and objective: Aim of this paper is to focus on importance of concepts of Tib-e-Unani in research studies of Tashreeh-ul-badan (anatomy). Material and Methods: For this study numerous books are considered, mainly- Al Qanun Fi-Tibb, Kulliyat-e-Asri, Kitab-ul-Miat, Gray‟s Anatomy, A Treatise on the canon of Medicine of Avicenna, Physiology of The Human Body, Standard Unani Medical Terminology, Basic Concepts of Unani Medicine-A Critical Study, Insani tashreeh ul badan, B.D. Chaurasia‟s General Anatomy and many international journals. Conclusion and future prospective: To carry out research in Tashreeh-ul-badan (Anatomy), the knowledge of fundamental concepts of Tibb-e-Unani is essential.
