EFFECT OF KSHARAJALA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF SIRQGRANTHIJANYA DUSTA VRANA (VENOUS ULCERS)

ABSTRACT
Aacharya Sushruta the pioneer of surgery has stated principles of “Shatkriyakal” which states that disease should be treated in its initial phase so that it will be easy to break down the pathogenesis of disease and to prevent further progress of disease and its untoward complications. Venous ulcers are difficult to heal. Modern medicines are often used for the management of venous ulcers. Ayurveda also has effective treatment modalities for venous ulcers, researchers has used combine approach using both Ayurveda and modern medicines and have been shown to be successful in early healing of venous ulcers. Researchers have studied effect of different Ayurveda medicines in combination of modern medicines. One such Ayurveda preparation Ksharjala have been effectively used by few for wound toileting and to promote wound healing. This study was designed to study the efficacy of Ksharjala and to establish it as a standard in the management of wound healing. Patients were selected randomly & divided in two groups; 1st experimental group treated with Ksharajala, Tab Daflon 500 mg and Leech application while 2nd control group treated with Tab Daflon 500 mg and Leech application.
