Madhumeha is belongs from the category of metabolic diseases which is characterized by hyperglycemia, decreased insulin secretion, increased glucose production and decreased glucose utilization. Multiple organ systems experience secondary pathophysiological changes as a result of metabolic deregulation in diabetes mellitus. Type I diabetes, also known as insulin-dependent diabetes, and type II diabetes, also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes, are the two types of diabetes. Type I Diabetes Mellitus is characterized by a variable degree of insulin resistance, impaired insulin secretion, and elevated glucose production, while type II Diabetes Mellitus is characterized by complete or near total insulin deficiency. Polyuria, frequent urination, increased thirst, polyphagia, polydipsia and hunger, etc. are the most common signs of diabetes mellitus.
