BIOSYNTHESIS OF PRISTINE ZNO AND CO-DOPED ZNO NANOCOMPOSITES USING MENTHA PIPERITA LEAF EXTRACT FOR PHOTOCATALYTIC AND ANTIOXIDANT APPLICATIONS

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this work is the preparation of ZnO Nanocatalyst doped with TiO2 and Ag to treat the industrial effluent by the method of photocatalytic degradation under the visible light. ZnO is one of the excellent photocatalysts for the complete degradation of organic contaminants in the effluent which is low cost, availability and non-toxic. But the band gap of ZnO is high around 3.2 eV so the dopant like TiO2 and Ag is introduced to improve the photocatalytic activity. The synthesis of Photocatalyst is done by green synthesis method and the samples were characterised by various techniques. The doped catalyst is set to react with the Methylene blue. Absorbance and Reaction time are the two main factors that improved the decolorization and degradation was observed and the actual wavelength for the Methylene Blue were analysed under the UV spectrometer. The initial value will be compared with the final value.
