A CLINICAL STUDY ON THE DARVYADI KWATH IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PITTAJ YONIVYAPAD W.S.R TO PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE

ABSTRACT
Pittaj Yonivyapad is one of the most common and burning problem faced by the women all around the globe. The symptoms are vaginal white discharge, itching, foul smell mild pain in vagina. On the bases of chief complaints and review of the disease the Pittaj yonivyapad is compared with pelvic inflammatory disease. There are many treatments prescribed for this problem but they are not free from side effects and with reoccurrence. Hence selection of an appropriate treatment is very essential. STUDY DESIGN: In the present study, 30 patients fulfilling criteria of Pittaj yonivyapad were selected under single group. Patients were given Darvyadi Kwath 20ml twice a day with Ushnodaka internally after food for 7 days. This study was carried out for 90 days. The signs and symptoms were observed before and after treatment and were compared. SUBJECTIVE PARAMETERS: Pain in abdomen, vaginal discharge, low backache, pain in menstruation, dyspareunia, tender fornices. RESULT: pain abdomen is improved in 51.72% vaginal discharge is improved in 44.83% low backache is improved in 52.86% pain in menstruation is improved in 45.45% dyspareunia is improved in 64.52%, tender fornices is improved in 48.61%.
